ABOUT

Patrick was born in Melbourne, Australia and raised in Wiesbaden, Germany. 1990's computers, cartoons, model kits and drawing sparked his interest in Industrial Design. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Industrial & Graphic Design at the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Transportation Design at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. During his studies he fell in love with Feature Animation while completing an internship at Pixar, where he had the chance to briefly work on "The Incredibles". 9 years later Patrick was the Production Designer for the DreamWorks film, "Rise of the Guardians". During his time at DreamWorks Animation Patrick also worked as a Visual Development Artist on many titles for the studio such as "The Croods", "Monsters vs. Aliens", "Over the Hedge" and many others. Being eager to learn about real time rendering workflows Patrick joined Crytek, working as the Visual Consultant on the Xbox One release title "Ryse Son of Rome" and the Art Director of the “Ryse” franchise. After helping out on several devolpment projects for ReelFX and WarnerBros Patrick designed the “Lego Movie 2 - The second part” until 2018. In 2019 Patrick dove heavily into VR and developed an unreleased VR experience for Penrose as well as the first fully Avatar based VR class for Art Center College of Design. Together with his creative Partner Margaret Wuller, Patrick is currently designing Paul McCartney’s animated musical “High in the Clouds”, produced by Gaumont. They are also taking care of two little kids and a scruffy old dog.
